BOSTON – ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...The Boston Celtics continue to separate themselves from the bottom of the pack in the NBA, as they won a brick-heavy snoozer against the Utah Jazz 83-82. Tyler Zeller had an incredible buzzer beating reverse to start the next Celtics winning streak as a snoozefest turned into a shocking thriller in the Garden. The Celtics pulled off the 85-84 victory, as Zeller capped off another Isaiah Thomas 20-point performance with an incredible play.
Gordon Hayward was one of the many players who had a rough night Wednesday, but his picture-perfect pull-up jumper looked like it gave the Jazz the game. But Smart’s great pass and Steven’s savvy inbounds play changed the story yet again in the final minute.
In Kelly Olynyk’s return to the court since his January 22 severe ankle sprain, he did not hit a shot and grabbed just one rebound in seven minutes of play. But Avery Bradley’s three-point barrage was the catalyst for a strong offensive second half, as his 11 third quarter points gave Boston the momentum it needed to hold a comfortable lead.
Jae Crowder also saw his role in the offense improve, as he scored 13 points off the bench, despite shooting 1-for-5 from deep. Isaiah Thomas continues to be the main scorer for the Celtics off the bench, as he had a team-high 21 points and was the only player to attempt more than five free throws.
