NBA Mock Draft: CelticsBlog community mock draft: Pick 3

With the second pick in the CelticsBlog community mock draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select Jahlil Okafor!

While Okafor and Julius Randle as a front court duo would look ugly on defense, that can potentially be a deadly scoring threat in the paint.  It would be unexpected if the Lakers chose anyone other than Okafor.

Now it is the Philadelphia 76ers turn to pick, and they have plenty of experience having an early pick.  The 76ers were not the disaster that most expected this past season; they actually looked promising towards the end of the year.  They've already built up their front court with Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid.  Noel was phenomenal on defense and Embiid sat out the season.  What the Sixers need is a floor general, a guard with size, talent in all aspects of the game, and someone that can bring energy and excitement to this young team.

The top two candidates for the number three pick are D'Angelo Russell and Emmanuel Mudiay, who I briefly highlighted in my previous post.  Most projections show that the 76ers will take Russell, who is a more complete POINT GUARD.  That is not to say that Mudiay is not a more complete player overall.  If I am looking to add a guy who will energize a stadium, I am picking Mudiay.  If I am looking to add a guy that can get my bigs the ball and create shots for others, I am picking Russell.  Both bring unique skills to the table.

A not-so-underdog candidate for this pick is Justise Winslow, but Philly seems to have their eyes on a point guard.

Who would you pick?
