Here's another rumor to watch for on draft night. Apparently the Willie Cauley-Stein isn't the only rim-protecting big man that the Celtics have their eyes on.
Celtics Trying To Move Up To Select Myles Turner - RealGM Wiretap
The Boston Celtics are actively attempting to trade up in next week's draft in order to select Myles Turner, according to multiple league sources. The Celtics own the 16th overall pick in the draft and Turner is expected to be picked several slots earlier.
Turner is expected to be a work in progress and may not be an immediate impact guy. But he's got that old cliche of "tremendous upside potential."
Regardless of the target, the Celtics are being very upfront about their desire to make some kind of move on draft night.
During a radio interview Saturday morning, Boston Celtics director of player personnel Austin Ainge said his club has talked to every lottery team -- "and probably every team in the league at this point" -- while exploring draft options. As expected, Ainge said the Celtics could still go in any number of directions Thursday night. "We will certainly be active whether that's moving up, moving out, trading for players, trading for future picks -- all of those are options," Ainge told Adam Kaufman of 98.5 The Sports Hub's Celtics @ 7.
One option seems to be to move their 28 pick - perhaps for a future pick which would save them on immediate cap space.
Lakers are also trying to move out of the 27 and Boston trying to move out of 28 too... no surprise on either - both covet capspace
