CelticsBlog community mock draft: Pick 19

Can the Wizards cook up some magic with their first round pick? (sorry...I had to)

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

With the 18th pick in the CelticsBlog community mock draft, the Houston Rockets select...Jerian Grant.

Grant is a perfect fit for a team looking to add an NBA ready contributor.  Grant is a all around threat, one that doesn't have much of a downside.  This pick adds depth where depth is needed, as well as another scoring option off the bench.  Grant isn't a super star in the making, but he's a solid role player that can fit well in Houston's system.

Up next is another team with not many glaring weaknesses.  The Washington Wizards have been a playoff team for the past few years, sweeping the Toronto Raptors before losing to the Hawks this season.  Their core is based around their backcourt with John Wall running the point and Bradley Beal on his side.  The only other lock in the lineup is Marcin Gortat.  Paul Pierce has thought about leaving for LA, and Nene's contract ends next season; there is no predicting what this team is in store for.  Kevin Durant hits free agency in 2016 and there has been too much buzz surrounding his potential homecoming.

This team is a few years away from contending for the title, all they need is the right fit.  An apparent need in the lineup is in the front court, more specifically at power forward.  Chad Ford said that the Wizards are hoping either Lyles, Portis, or Looney falls to them.  Lyles and Portis are off the board so it seems like Looney would be the pick.

Who would you select with the 19th pick?
