With the 10th pick in the CelticsBlog community mock draft, the Miami Heat select...Frank Kaminsky.
This is a safe pick for the Heat, who don't plan on going through a lengthy rebuild. Kaminsky won National College Player of the Year, among his other accolades, averaging 18.8 points per game and 8.2 rebounds. The Heat are getting a developed stretch big who is insurance to Chris Bosh.
Up next are the Indiana Pacers, whose playoffs dreams were shattered once Paul George broke his leg in a FIBA World Cup scrimmage. The Pacers ended the season on a decent note, but they were a hair short of making the postseason. Now the Pacers are looking for a player to step up and contribute next year because Indy has been at the top of the East for the past few years.
Larry Legend called Willie Cauley-Stein a 100 million dollar player, but taking Cauley-Stein this late may be more dream and less reality. The Pacers have showed interest in trading their pick if the player they want is not available, so this may be a way for the Celtics to move up a few picks.
Many analysts have them taking Cameron Payne, a small school point guard who can be the next big playmaker in the NBA. They can also go with Myles Turner, a not-so-mini version of Cauley-Stein.
The Pacers are on the clock. Who would you pick?
