State of the Blog Address - vocal community, calling out lurkers, be good to each other

We're into a new year and a little under half the season is over so it seems like as good a time as any to address the blog.

As always, I need to start out with thank you's and atta-boy's.

I humbly thank everyone that reads this blog.  I applaud those of you that contribute to the community with comments, FanPosts, FanShots, Forum posts, and chat room comments.  It gives me great joy to know that we've built a place where other Celtics fans can gather online and share our passion for the greatest franchise in all of sports (my biased but justifiable opinion).

Basically treat everyone else the way you'd want to be treated.  If someone has a different opinion than you, that doesn't mean it is your job to shame them or shout them out of that opinion.  Different views are part of what gives this community color and variety.  Let people be themselves.  Keep this in mind in particular as trade season gears up.

If you are called names or otherwise feel attacked, please don't feel like you can respond in kind.  Notify me or the mods and we'll take care of it.  Note: we can't be everywhere at all times so please be patient if we miss some things.

Oh, I can't forget to thank the wonderful staff we have here at CelticsBlog.  It is a great team of writers, editors, moderators, and more that make this machine keep chugging along and they are very much appreciated.

Here's to another great year and may we find ourselves raising another banner before too long.
