The Boston Celtics are little more than 24 hours away from their preseason tip-off against the Philadelphia 76ers in a semi-home game at UMass Amherst's Mullins Center. Despite the proximity to the start of the preseason head coach Brad Stevens is more concerned with what he's seeing in practice.
Scott Souza, of the Metro Daily West and Providence Journal, tweeted the following:
#Celtics coach Brad Stevens: Haven't set tomorrow's rotations yet. Said he's not focused on games this week as much as practices.

In all likelihood, tomorrow's rotation will not include newly-acquired swingman Gerald Green against the 76ers.
#Celtics coach Brad Stevens: Gerald Green (hip) will do more drills today, but from what I know nothing "live."

MassLive.com's Jay King piggybacked Souza with this tweet earlier today:
Gerald Green (hip flexor) isn't expected to practice fully today, per Stevens.

Green was signed to a 1-year, $1.4 million deal on July 27 to add depth and instant offense at guard. The 10-year veteran was drafted by Boston 18th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft and was traded away after two seasons. Green is nursing a hip flexor injury that is not considered to be serious.
Green averaged 10 points per game and has shot 36.1 percent from beyond the arc in 10 seasons.
First-round pick Jaylen Brown is hoping to see a lot of time on the floor in his preseason NBA debut. The 3rd overall pick can't wait to take his first steps on the NBA hardwood.
Jaylen Brown on importance of Tues night's game vs Philly: "Every game is important, whether it's in the preseason or the regular season."
— Boston Celtics (@celtics) October 3, 2016
#Celtics rookie Jaylen Brown: The more I'm on the floor, the more comfortable I get. The more comfortable I get, sky's the limit.
— Scott Souza (@Scott_Souza) October 3, 2016
The 76ers will withhold center Jahlil Okafor from the game Tuesday in addition to first overall pick in this year's draft Ben Simmons. Okafor is dealing with a knee injury that's limited him since training camp while Simmons recently suffered a fractured foot and will miss considerable time.
Brett Brown says Jahlil Okafor will be held out of Sixers pre-season opener tomorrow. Wants him to get more real-time prep on court.
