The Celtics announced shortly after Marcus Smart limped off the court that he had suffered an ankle contusion early in the fourth quarter. The Celtics trailed by double-digits as he attempted to break up a two-on-one Warriors transition play. He limped to the sideline, took his shoe off, then walked into the locker room with trainers.

Smart missed time earlier in the season with an ankle injury and the Celtics play tomorrow in Detroit, starting a three game road trip against the Pistons. Jae Crowder and Al Horford are expected to make the trip, but as they prepare to return to action the C’s may be losing another piece to the puzzle. They’ve yet to play a game this year without a player inactive due to injury.
