Boston Celtics 2016 NBA Draft Pick Tracker: Updated on April 11

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

It's a good time to be a Boston Celtics fan. The Cs are a thriving playoff team, and they're in a prime position to make an impactful move this summer. But they'll need some lottery luck for their war chest of picks to be as valuable as it can be.

Listed below are the latest odds and information on all eight of Boston's draft picks, as of April 8. If you'd like to learn more about players the Celtics could select, please order my 2016 NBA Draft Guide, and keep tabs on CelticsBlog for more prospect profiles.

On Sunday...
  • The Nets lost to the Pacers. That's great for obvious reasons.
  • The Mavs lost to the Clippers. That's good, since it decreases their chances of moving up the standings.
  • The Rockets beat the Lakers. That's good, since they could still make the playoffs over the Mavs.
  • The Jazz beat the Nuggets. That's good, since they could pass the Mavs in the standings.

If the season ended on the morning of April 11, the Celtics would have the 3rd-best lottery odds, and the following picks: 16th, 22nd or 23rd, 31st, 35th, 46th, 53rd, and 58th.

Nets pick (unprotected, currently 3rd-best odds)

The Nets pick has an 15.6% chance of being No. 1 and a 46.9% chance of landing in the top 3. Brooklyn is one game ahead of the Suns (4th spot). If the Nets lose out, they'll finish with the third-best odds. Celtics fans should root for the Nets to lose and the Suns to win. Here are the remaining games with implications on the Nets pick:

DATE NETS SUNS
Mon, April 11 vs. Wizards vs. Kings
Tue, April 12 ----- -----
Wed, April 13 vs. Raptors vs. Clippers

If the Nets lose to the Wizards and the Suns beat the Kings on Monday, the Nets pick will have the third-best lottery odds regardless of what happens on Wednesday.

Mavs pick (Top-7 protected, currently 16th)

The Mavs are the 7th seed and they're two games ahead of the Rockets (9th seed). Celtics fans should root for the Mavs to lose, and the Rockets, Jazz, Blazers, and Grizzlies to win. The Mavs trail the Blazers by 1.5 games and Grizzlies by one game. These are the remaining games with implications on the Mavs pick:

DATE MAVS JAZZ GRIZZLIES ROCKETS BLAZERS
Mon, April 11 ***Mavs at Jazz*** ----- at Wolves -----
Tue, April 12 ----- ----- at Clippers ----- -----
Wed, April 13 vs. Spurs at Lakers at Warriors vs. Kings vs. Nuggets

The Mavs need to finish 0-2 and the Jazz and Rockets both need to go 2-0 for the Mavs to miss the playoffs.

Celtics pick (currently 22nd or 23rd)

The Celtics are tied as the 4th seed in the East with the Heat.
