Celtics fall to Hawks, 118-107 in what was likely a must-win

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Celtics fell to the Atlanta Hawks, 118-107, on Saturday night.

- With the loss, Boston is now a full-game back of the Hawks in the race for the Eastern Conference's third seed and hold a mere half-game lead over the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets for the fourth.

- The game was a back-and-forth affair, for the most part, but the Celtics hit random lulls that ultimately came back to haunt them on both sides of the ball.

- Isaiah Thomas struggled to make his usual offensive impact, scoring just 16 points on 19 field goal attempts.

- Paul Millsap led the way for the Hawks with 31 points and 16 rebounds, adding five blocks and three steals for good measure.

- The Celtics' final two games are at home against Charlotte and Miami, both of which are now must-wins.
