The Celtics were mentioned in several trade rumors leading up to the last minutes before the draft. Some including the Sixers, some involving Jimmy Butler, but nothing materialized.
It sounded like the Sixers were desperate to get Kris Dunn.
ESPN sources say Philadelphia is offering Nerlens Noel, No. 24 and No. 26 in tonight's draft and Robert Covington for Boston's No. 3 pick

In other rumors, it sounded like the Celtics were progressing on a Jimmy Butler deal.
Sources: Boston is engaged with the Bulls and Sixers as Celtics inch closer to going on the clock at No. 3, league sources said.

But everything seemed to hinge upon the Celtics picking Kris Dunn. The Celtics obviously didn't find a deal they liked and they went instead with Jaylen Brown.
Apparently the Wolves turned down an offer of Jimmy Butler for the #5 pick and Zach Lavine. Which makes no sense to me at all.
I'll be very interested to hear what the Celtics offer was for Butler and if he does get traded to the Wolves, it will be telling to see what package he goes for.
Perhaps all the rumors were a bit overstated, but I don't understand why the team didn't just pick Dunn and dangle him in trades all night.
But maybe I don't know all the facts.
Wyc Grousbeck: "We did not SNIFF a trade today. It was a collection of rip-off attempts, and we laughed at them." #Celtics owner heated.

Will the Celtics make a deal later in the night? Stay tuned.
