The Boston Celtics will re-sign Tyler Zeller to a two-year, $16 million deal with a team option on the second year, Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reports.

The Celtics needed one more big at the end of the bench and Zeller showed last year that he could be a useful back-end rotation player. They retain their diverse collection of bigs while replacing Jared Sullinger with Al Horford.
It is a surprising, if not disappointing outcome for Zeller, who came into last season hoping to set himself up for a lucrative free agency. After being stuck on the bench for most of the year, Zeller could not cash in on the run on centers when the market opened a few weeks ago.
Zeller ends up being locked into the Celtics for two years, although they can cut him loose next summer if they need more room.
