What to do now...

After a grand total of 5 minutes and 15 seconds, the gruesome injury of Gordon Hayward appeared to "end" the Celtics season just as it was getting started. Gordon Hayward is an in-his-prime all star wing who was expected to lead this team along side Kyrie. As of right now, nobody on the team can replace his production. However, that does NOT mean that no one has the potential to do so. From my eyes, Jaylen Brown looked like a young player ready to take a "Kawhi Leonard Finals MVP" type leap, going from a role player to star. With Gordon most likely out for most if not all of the season, I wouldnt be surprised if he was an all-star this year. Next, JaysonTatum, starting in the 2nd half, looked READY. Having a double double against the reigning Eeastern conference champs is impressive. Don't forget, only other Celtic to have a double double in their debut is Larry Bird. (Hopefully Tatum turns out as good as he did.) If he can give the team around 14-15 ppg, 6-8 rbg, and around 3 assists, than I believe that would be a more than successful season for him. Hopefully Marcus can sort out his jump shot like in the preseason because this team needs his leadership, now more than ever. He looked improved once he settled down and gave us his usual plays that only he can make. The forgotten man seems to be Al Horford. Before the season, we all wanted a more aggressive, scoring Al. However, he has no choice but to be that now. For us to pick up Gordon's production, he NEEDS to average at least 17-18. I know he's never done it, but these around extreme circumstances and I figure that Al realizes this. Everyone seems to have forgotten about last year. With no Hayward or improved Jaylen Brown, IT, Danny Ainge's new most hated player, led this team to the 1 seed and the ECF. Why can't Kyrie do the same? I believe his is even more capable of leading this team. He had 22 and 10 in his FIRST night in a new system. Incredible. All and all, while the injury of Hayward was devestating, this team has the potential to be a major player in the East. From the reports I've heard, there is a chance that Gordon could make a return before the playoffs. If he does *fingers crossed* he could come back to a team better equipped to beat the Cavs due to the experience that the younger players have gained. Last but certainly not least, good luck Gordon on your recovery, Celtics fans have your back.
