On Celtics Stuff Live Tuesday, Justin and Jon look back at the evolution of the Big Three nickname in Boston basketball.

Any long term fan will always stay loyal to the NBA’s original Big Three of Larry Bird, Robert Parish and Kevin McHale. The new moniker resurfaced in 2007 with Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

Back in 2007, Justin and Jon struggled with transferring the Big Three tagline from the legendary front line of the 1980’s. Eventually, led by Marc Spears and Mike Gorman, the guys gave in and let rolled with the recycled Big Three label.

10 years later, Poulin and Duke are still struggling with handing over that legendary Big Three title.

Only time will tell where today’s Celtics’ will fit into history but how would you name the Celtics’ current triumvirate of Irving, Hayward and Horford?
