The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that they have assigned rookie forward Guerschon Yabusele to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G-League.

Yabusele has only appeared in seven games for the Celtics this season, playing a total of 32 minutes. He was signed after spending last season playing professionally in China, and has not made much of an impact in the NBA so far this year. The Red Claws are scheduled to play an 11 a.m. game tomorrow, so Yabusele should be able to get some decent playing time there.
Boston recently called up Jabari Bird from the G-League before their road game in Indiana, but Yabusele is not on the same tow-way contract that Bird is. The Celtics are home for the next 10 days give or take, so it’s possible that Yabusele could make a return to the roster before the team goes on the road again.
