In his first game with the Maine Red Claws after getting sent down to the G-League by the Boston Celtics, Guerschon Yabusele turned in a strong performance in a 111-100 win over the Westchester Knicks Wednesday.
Yabusele made the most of his playing time, putting in 27 points 10-20 shooting, and grabbing six rebounds to go along with four assists.
“The Dancing Bear” reminded us all how he got the nickname in this game as he punished the opposing defense with quick drives past their bigs. Yabusele was also able to knock down three of his three-point attempts off of pick-and-pops. There were a couple of nice dunks by the rookie forward, and he even put a defender in the spin cycle with a beautiful crossover and euro-step combo.

It’s nice to see Yabusele making the most of the playing time that he’s getting in Maine right now. He didn’t have much a role with the Celtics early on this season, so getting the chance to play and develop in the G-League should help him gain confidence for when he eventually comes back up to the NBA.
Celtics rookies Kadeem Allen and Jabari Bird had solid games as well, with Bird scoring 12 points, and Allen putting in 26 points on 11-16 from the field.
