As Jahlil Okafor rumors swirl with him and the 76ers engaged in a standoff over his potential buyout several seasons after he was their number-one selection, the Celtics and their $8-million+ disabled player exception could be a possible landing spot.
98.5’s Adam Kaufman joined this week’s Banners Broadcast to discuss that possibility and more. He’s higher on Okafor’s potential than most, but also sees value in the Celts waiting once he hits the market because Boston does not have to dive into their exception until March.
Later, our own Mike DePrisco breaks down Okafor’s potential fit with the C’s and Terry Rozier’s phenomenal start to the season. If he keeps getting better, would it make Marcus Smart expendable later?
