Marcus Smart fined $25,000 for making an “obscene gesture” to a fan during Tuesday’s loss

Everyone is just frustrated at this point.

NBA: Playoffs-Chicago Bulls at Boston Celtics Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA has fined Marcus Smart $25,000 for making an “obscene gesture” to a fan during last night’s home loss to the Bulls, per an official release from the league. With just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter and the Celtics down 100-86, Smart missed a three-point shot from above the break. He then gave the middle finger to a fan across the court who seemed to scream something at him.

The whole ordeal is available to watch in this video below:

It’s clear that the disappointment and exasperation that the fans are currently feeling is mutual among the members of the team. Just like these last two losses, Smart needs to put this incident behind him and focus on doing his best to tie up this series in Chicago.

Game 3 starts at 7 p.m. EST on Friday on ESPN.
