Isaiah Thomas fined $25,000 by NBA for Cursing at Wizards Fan

BOSTON — The NBA fined Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas $25,000 on Wednesday before Game 5 after video surfaced showing him dropping the F-bomb at a heckling Washington Wizards fan during Game 3 Thursday.

Video surfaced on reddit Monday evening showing Thomas yelling at the fan, “I will [expletive] you up and you know that.” CelticsBlog tweeted out the video below, and it eventually went viral, reaching the NBA’s attention some time in the past day or two.

The league fined Thomas for, “directing inappropriate language toward a fan,” in the Game 4 loss to the Wizards.

Coach Brad Stevens voiced his concern about Thomas’ actions before Game 5.

“Obviously there’s a line that you can’t cross and you ultimately get fined for. That’s my reaction to it. Obviously I think that if he could take it back he would, but you can ask him about it.”
