Lucas became a full-time starter in his senior year and averaged 7.9 points per game on 63 percent shooting. He also pulled down 8.3 rebounds per game in over 25 minutes of playing time per game. As a 5th year senior, Lucas is a touch on the older side at nearly 24 years of age.
He’s mobile and moves fluidly around the court, using his 7’0’’ wingspan to protect the paint and challenge shots at the rim. He has a fairly limited offensive game, where he sticks to scoring inside, but is known for being a solid screener and having a high basketball IQ.
With a strong performance in Summer League, Lucas could land a training camp contract for a Celtics team that currently projects to be short on size up front. In addition, he could score himself a spot on the Maine Red Claws in the NBA Gatorade League.
