The Boston Celtics are just about finished making moves with their roster before training camp. This past week Boston made a number of those moves official. They introduced Marcus Morris and Aron Baynes, signed Semi Ojeleye and Daniel Theis, and inked Kadeem Allen to the first two-way contract in franchise history. Shane Larkin unexpectedly agreed to a one-year deal to give the Celtics 16 guaranteed contracts, and Paul Pierce signed a contract to officially retire with Boston.
After a busy week, current and past members of the Celtics seem to be keeping busy during the dog days of the NBA offseason. On Thursday, former Celtic Ray Allen broke his silence in the hot debate surrounding his departure from Boston in 2012.
A Celtics fan page posted a photo to wish the now 42-year-old a happy birthday. If you go to the link of the photo, you will notice that the comments from Celtics fans are mostly insults and jabs at Allen for leaving Boston for the Miami Heat. Allen fired back with a comment in defense of his decision.
“Ya’ll need to get over it!!! where were you all when the team tried to trade me. It’s a business, we go where it’s necessary just like you all do in your jobs!!!! I will always be a Celtic no matter what any of you say. Get over it!!!!”
This comes after Kevin Garnett hosted Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, and Glen Davis on his show “KG Area 21” to talk about the 2008 title team and, of course, Allen’s departure. A lot has been made of Allen leaving Boston for their rival, and this response to the fans could signal that the drama isn’t over yet.

On Saturday, second-year forward Jaylen Brown decided to participate in the drive-by dunk challenge started by Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans. While Davis ran up and did a simple two-handed drop in, Brown seemed to be on a mission to break a backboard. I’m not sure that Brown actually broke the hoop, but he definitely jacked it up with his one-handed hammer off of a steal.
How's Isaiah Thomas spending his offseason? Devouring game film at midnight on a Friday in July. pic.twitter.com/Y9PrtHGor6

It seems that Isaiah Thomas doesn’t take any breaks from getting better. His wife Kayla posted an Instagram story of the Celtics star watching game film from the playoffs while she was trying to watch a movie with him.
With reports swirling about Kyrie Irving demanding a trade from the Cavaliers, Thomas isn’t taking any days off in his pursuit of a championship. Watching film in July doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it’s nice that the Celtics’ point guard is doing that instead of trying to force his way out of town.
