It normally isn’t noisy this time of year around the league, but with Kyrie Irving pushing out of Cleveland and an earlier start date coming it feels like the Celtics conversation never sleeps.
This week on The Banners Broadcast, Jared Weiss returned to discuss how likely it is that Irving ends up on the Celtics and what Irving’s presumptive departure means for Boston regardless. I go to bat for Isaiah Thomas, who many would seem quick to part with in an Irving deal.
Then there’s the training staff overhaul. Ed Lacerte, Brian Doo and others are gone after years upon years as mainstays with the Celts. Weiss has a suspicion on why the change is happening now, and it involves the General Electric partnership.
Weiss also provides the best Reggie Lewis memories he can, 24 years to the day he tragically passed away playing basketball. If you missed Keith Smith’s emotional tribute, be sure to check that out as well.
Keith will join Banners next week. Leave your voicemails at 978-595-1744 before Monday night. Thank you for listening, and please subscribe.
