Celtics ROY

The Celtic will likely have 6 rookies on the roster. Who will contribute the most next year?

  1. Jayson Tatum (2 to 5) the 3rd and most n.b.a. ready pick in a stacked draft. Would be the top league R.O.Y. candidate on Sacramento or Orlando. Now will be sharing minutes with Hayward, Crowder and Brown.
  2. Ante Zizic (2 to 1) Unlike Tatum, there are minutes a plenty for Zizic. Also in his favor, the Celtics need him to do what he did in Europe. His ceiling is lower than Tatum, but he may be closer to it.
  3. Semi Ojeleye (10 to 1) The Celtics need someone to replace Jerebko. Semi has a lot of college experience and an n.b.a. body. Unfortunately, Jerebko's roll was to play defense and collect hustle points. Not the kind of work that gets you R.O.Y.
  4. Guerschon Yabusele (20 to 1) Dominated in China. Did well in the d.n.b.a. and Summer League. The most unique player on the team. Could be Larry Johnson with a sick 3 or be a poor man's "big baby" Davis. If he can do something, anything on defense is an offensive matchup nightmare.
  5. Abdel Nader (30 to 1) Fills a need. Unless Hayward slides down to shooting guard, the Celtics have no one other than Thomas as a skilled offensive threat in the backcourt. The are both minutes and shoots available to him-- maybe. Hayward, Smart, Brown, Rozier all can play the two and are far better defenders.
  6. Daniel Theis (100 to 1) A short center. His game is rebounding and defensive intensity. While needed- doesn't won awards. Looks to be 4th in line for minutes at the 5.
  7. Bird / Allen, no odds. Marcus Thorton starter kits. Need a year like Nader's in d.n.b.a. to play next year.
