This morning we talked about the best case scenario with what it would take for the Celtics to win the Championship. I won’t subject you to a post dedicated to the worst case scenario (nobody needs that). But I was curious to see what people’s reasonable expectations are at this moment for the Celtics.
Last season the Celtics won 53 games and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they were only able to win one game from the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, a few things have changed since then, and a few more things may well change before the playoffs this coming season.
The Celtics roster already looks a lot different, in particular with the addition of Gordon Hayward. The Cavaliers roster looks pretty similar thus far, but with Kyrie Irving’s trade demand, it could look very different any day now. That’s a variable that is difficult to account for, but for discussion purposes it is an interesting data point.
So how do you think the Celtics stack up with the rest of the East? How about the league as a whole? Any early predictions for record and how far they’ll advance in the playoffs?
