Jon Duke and Justin Poulin examine the impact Marcus Smart will have on the 2017-18 Boston Celtics in the latest deep dive by the charismatic hosts of Celtics Stuff Live.

Unless an agreement is met between the Celtics and Smart on a rookie-scale extension before Oct. 16, the fiery guard will become a restricted free agent in the summer of ‘18.

With Avery Bradley in Detroit, Smart will be counted on to check a lot of the top guards in the league on a more regular basis. Plus, with so many new faces in Boston to begin the season, Smart will be counted on to help form a new on-court identity for the Celtics.

Smart has the opportunity to cash in, whenever that may be.
