Four and a half months before his #34 is added to TD Garden rafters, Paul Pierce has officially signed with ESPN’s crew of on-screen NBA analysts and personalities. The Worldwide Leader made the talent acquisition official with a press release earlier today.

Pierce will make regular appearances on NBA Countdown and The Jump. The Celtics star was his positive self about his new home:

“I always had fun doing guest coverage with ESPN, so it is exciting to officially join the teams at NBA Countdown and The Jump. I love hoops, my whole life has been about the game, so this feels like a natural evolution in my career and I can’t wait for the season to get started,” he said.

Pierce’s full time role will land him on ABC broadcasts as well, since Countdown pairs with the broadcast network’s Saturday NBA programming.

This officially begins the The Truth’s career off the court. Along with leading the 2007-08 Celtics to a title, he won Finals MVP that same year and was named to the NBA All-Star team 10 times.
