BOSTON - Nearly 10 years since the Paul Pierce/Doc Rivers led Boston Celtics traveled to Rome for training camp. This week, the Kyrie Irving/Brad Stevens led Celtics are back on an overseas mission to support the NBA Beyond Borders initiative. After a week’s worth of bonding experiences, black tie dinners, some practice time and Danny Ainge blowing up Twitter with Gordon Hayward impromptu progress report, the C’s will now focus on the purpose of the trip- to face their longtime division rivals, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Is the future championship squad of 2008’s trip to Rome even comparable to the 2017 team packing up and “crossing the pond?”

Toscano, Pavon and Gelso are back with their compare and contrast segment.

Tip off for the Celtics vs Sixers at O2 Arena in London is at 3 pm, EST. CLNS Media and CelticsBlog will have written, spoken and video content all day long.

Stay tuned to CLNS and CB for more coverage throughout the day.
