According to Sean Grande, Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving has been ruled out for the team’s home game against the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday with shoulder soreness.
Kyrie Irving is out with shoulder soreness. Stevens does not believe it will be a long-term issue.

Irving was one of the three Celtics that were reportedly questionable for Thursday’s game. Marcus Smart and Guerschon Yabusele were suffering from an illness, but Smart will indeed play with Yabusele sidelined along with Irving. Brad Stevens said that he hopes to have Irving back sooner rather than later, but there is not an exact date for when he’ll be back.
Not only is Smart active for the Celtics, but Stevens said that he will start in Irving’s place.
Marcus Smart (illness) is feeling better. He will start for Kyrie.

The Celtics are scheduled for an earlier tip off at 7 p.m. EST at the TD Garden as they look to get back on track following a loss to New Orleans on Tuesday.
