NBA: Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Celtics announced Friday that Marcus Smart will miss two weeks of action after suffering lacerations to his right hand.

Brad Stevens said that Smart suffered a right hand injury the afternoon before the Celtics’ game against the Clippers Wednesday. He then flew home with his hand in a sling, without a clear explanation of what happened.

Smart then went on twitter to explain what occurred and issued an apology, saying that he struck a picture frame in the team’s hotel.

The Celtics have a total of eight games in the next two weeks, and will look to playerrs like Terry Rozier and Shane Larkin to step up in Smart’s absence.
