Why does TD Garden look so different? (video)

BOSTON — Does TD Garden look a bit different on TV this pre-season? Are you squinting, trying to see the trademark yellow chairs throughout the arena?

That’s because the TD Garden installed some new lighting. Every alteration Delaware North makes the old Boston Garden a more distant memory. This “upgrade” is no different...

Yup, those yellow seats that have been a part of the backdrop of every professional basketball and hockey match played in Boston are now being hidden by a MSG, Staples Center shroud of darkness.

After Sunday’s pre season win over the Charlotte Hornets, CLNS’ Jimmy Toscano asked Kyrie Irving what he thought of the lights. Uncle Drew compared basketball being played under the new lighting at the Garden as more of a performance lighting.
