BRIGHTON - The Boston Celtics held practice at the Auerbach Center on Wednesday afternoon, where we heard from Gordon Hayward, Al Horford, and Brad Stevens prior to the workout.
Hayward gave us an update on his back, while saying that his body felt as good as it has all preseason yesterday. In terms of his back injury, the All-Star forward said it felt better today, despite finding out that it’s going to be a process due to not playing for so long. Hayward said that it’s gotten progressively worse, which caused him to dial it back. He did note that he expects to play in next Tuesday’s season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Horford spoke about the competitiveness of the team’s in-practice scrimmages and said that Guerschon Yabusele hit a game-winner yesterday to beat the starters.
Head coach Brad Stevens said that Hayward and Kyrie Irving went through practice yesterday, and everyone was availiable during today’s session.
