The Detroit Pistons haven’t lost a game. They’re 4-0 under new head coach Dwane Casey with an overtime win against the Philadelphia 76ers. They’ve been monsters on the offensive glass averaging 14.3 per game, Blake Griffin is averaging 33.8 points per game, and Andre Drummond is pulling down 17.8 boards a night. It’s early, but it’s clear that the Pistons are playing to their inherent strengths. In a league that has gone small, the Pistons are relying on their size to win games.
The Celtics arrive in Motown after pulling out a comeback win in Oklahoma City in large part due to their small ball lineups anchored by Marcus Morris and Semi Ojeleye at the 5. That may not be ideal with the bulk that Boston will face tonight, but Brad Stevens may not have many other options. Here’s your big man injury update from former CelticsBlogger and current Athletic’s Jared Weiss:
Aron Baynes upgraded to questionable for tomorrow night and Theis is also listed as questionable with a foot sprain.

Update: Baynes has been ruled out of tonight’s game by the Celtics.
So far this season, the Celtics have been middle of the road in keeping opponents off the offensive glass, allowing only 10.6 per game but that’s when Baynes and Theis were available. Against the Thunder on Thursday night, they gave up 16 second chance attempts. After straining his hamstring in New York a week ago, Baynes has said that he’s ready to play, but it’s only Game #6 and this 82-game marathon has just started. Baynes traveled with the team to OKC and if he doesn’t make it into the game tonight, he’ll have another chance to wrestle with Griffin and Drummond on Tuesday on the back end of this home-and-away set with the Pistons.
