BRIGHTON - Boston Celtics center Daniel Theis spoke to the media at the Auerbach Center on Tuesday morning for the first time since being ruled out indefinitely with a slight plantar fascia tear in his right foot. Theis said he expects to be in a walking boot for the next two weeks.
“I’m going to be in the boot for two weeks, just to keep the foot in the right position to heal,” said Theis. “After the two weeks, it will be day-by-day. Two weeks in a boot and afterwards I’m gonna start running and all the stuff.”
The German big man said he has to stay positive throughout the rehab process, but said he’s happy that this one will be much shorter than his injury that cut his rookie season short in 2017-18.
The Celtics return to action at 7:30 PM on Tuesday night at TD Garden against the Detroit Pistons.
