Do the Celtics have issues with shot selection? Yes. Are they underperforming their ability? Also, yes. Nylon Calculus analyzed shot making and shot quality and expects the Celtics to regress towards the mean almost literally, projecting the team to end up around league-average in eFG% rather than near the bottom. The offense should get better without making any changes. With the defense the way it is, the Celtics can sleep-walk into the playoffs. The question is if it can be significantly better than average. I don't expect to be able to answer that question until Hayward is 100% and I don't expect him to be 100% until he's played at least 600-800 minutes. So, the bottom line, is that I won't panic and I don't think they have to make lineup/rotation changes for now unless it seems like Hayward has plateaued and is no longer getting better physically.
