Terry Rozier: “I’m happy”

After a flurry of rumors that Terry Rozier was unhappy in Boston and opposing teams were interested in a trade, the four-year guard and his GM, Danny Ainge, put that talk to rest.

Stadium’s Shams Charania reported that Phoenix was one of at least seven teams that are interested in Rozier’s services. Amico Hoops’ Sam Amico threw in the Cavaliers’ name into the hat. The Ringer’s Bill Simmons set Twitter afire by “reporting” that Rozier was unhappy with his PT, suggested that Phoenix, Orlando, and San Antonio could be in the mix for Scary Terry, and went as far to say that Rozier would be gone in ten days.

Well, Danny Ainge and Terry Rozier threw water on all that smoke on Thursday. In his weekly interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich Show, Ainge was adamant that he hadn’t heard from Brad Stevens or Rozier about his playing time. He even called the seven potential suitors a “made up” number and that he hasn’t discussed a potential Rozier trade “since the season started.”

During media availability at shootaround, Rozier was equally surprised at the rumors surfacing that he was upset with playing time:

Celtics superfan Janos also weighed in:

Maybe it’s the whispering of agents. Maybe it’s Bill Simmons talking just to talk. Maybe Ainge is waiting for the December 15th moratorium to get a better sense of what this team is and what they need. We’ll hear rumors like this until the February trade deadline passes.

But for now, Rozier is still a Celtic and confident as ever. When asked about the reported interest for his services, Scary Terry replied, “That’s how it should be. There should be more.”
