RWIII time?

It's still early for Robert Williams III. He hasn't had a lot of opportunities so far, but he's acquitted himself pretty well. He's got the spectacular stuff down. He has proven he can block shots in the NBA. He has proven he can finish an alley-oop dunk in the NBA, and he can rebound. Now he might have a chance to show us what else he's got. With Yabu out, and Horford day-to-day, the Celtics are simply going to have to go to the Time Lord. Cool.

It's lucky that we aren't playing any contenders right around now, though it's not entirely luck. Horford could play if we really needed him, but we're hoping not to need him for another couple of games. At least, I think that's the plan. This gives the rookie a chance. Here's hoping he's able to make the most of it.

To do so, he's going to have to reliably make the right rotations. He's going to have to get back in transition. He's going to have to be stingy with turnovers. He's going to have to take the right shots, even if he doesn't make them. He's going to have to find the open man. He's going to have to box out. That's right, box out. I know a lot of really tall guys with incredible hops feel that boxing out is for punks. Maybe they're right, but in my book, if you don't box out, you ARE a punk. Don't be a punk, RWIII. Do the little things right. You've already got the flashy things down.

We're all rooting for you, rook. Make it happen.
