Late in the fourth quarter, Guerschon Yabusele went up to block a shot and landed awkwardly on Brad Wanamaker’s foot. After getting early minutes with Al Horford and Aron Baynes out, Yabu was putting together his strongest game, making all the right passes and being active on the boards. As bad as it looked on TV, the good news is that it seems he’s avoided serious injury:
#NEBHInjuryReport: Guerschon Yabusele suffered a “bad (ankle) sprain,” according to Stevens. “No break, so that’s good. But he’ll probably out awhile.”— Boston Celtics (@celtics) December 9, 2018
Earlier this fall, the Celtics unexpectedly picked up Yabusele’s team option for next season. Yabu’s extended absence should open the door for rookie Robert Williams to join the back end of the roster.
