Allen is averaging 18 points 5.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 24 games this year, and went on a tear in the past two weeks averaging over 30 points and earning a call-up to the Celtics.
Brid on the other hand, is averaging over 19 points, and 5.7 rebounds while shooting over 50% from the field this year.
Bird and Allen have made the most of their time with the Red Claws this year. They’ve each had short stints with the Celtics to add guard depth and could make an eventual bid for a roster spot on the team next season.
It’s never a bad thing to hit on a draft pick, and the Celtics have two fine guards in the G-League that while may not be in the rotation this year, it’s not crazy to think they’ll take on a role as the Celtics go into the luxury tax.
