Wondering what everyone thinks about Nikola Jokic

I recently read Tom Ziller's piece about Nikola Jokic's unique contract situation. The overview is Jokic was a second-round pick so picking up his team option will make him an unrestricted free agent the following offseason. Rejecting the team option makes him a restricted free agent this offseason. He undoubtedly will get the maximum from the Nuggets, about 25M, if they decided to reject his team option. However, there are some questions about whether the franchise is willing to go into the Luxury Tax to keep him. I suspect they will find a way to get under and keep him, but if they make a mistake and take his team option for next season, I would hope the Celtics try to sign him in 2019.

I may be in the minority but he would be the piece that puts us over the top as a contender. Replace Al with Jokic and this team becomes the most interesting show on television. As a playmaker, he is making the Nuggets relevant. Gary Harris is undoubtedly talented, just not this talented. Same goes for a lot of their players on that roster. Imagine the boost he can give us. Right now the biggest flaw on this team is offensive fluidity. He would immediately rewrite that narrative. Although critics of his game point out his conditioning and defense are lacking, it is clear he has made the necessary improvements. This year he is in better shape, and it is contributing to his improved defense and his minutes jumping into full-time starter range.

Assuming a whole bunch of things (Nuggets exercise team option, Kyrie opts in, Horford opts out, Jokic wants out), does this move the needle or am I just blinded by his fantastic passing. Also, there is always a cost to making a big signing like this, maybe someone has a better grip on what it would cost the Celtics.
