The 11-year shooting guard is in his first season with the Hawks, averaging over 11 points per game and shooting 37.2% from three. Belinelli is a career 37% three-point shooter, and provides bench scoring and floor spacing along with playoff experience, having won a championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014.
The Celtics have not been reported as a likely suitor for Belinelli’s services, but they’re expected to be very active in the buyout market after standing pat at the deadline in trade talks for Tyreke Evans.
Joe Johnson is another potential buyout candidate that the Celtics are reported to be favorites to land. All teams are allowed to sign players before March 31st, where playoff rosters officially lock.
