Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris to start in place of Brown and Horford

Brad Stevens is forced to break up his clicking bench unit

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at Boston Celtics Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Brad Stevens told reporters Sunday that Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris will replace the injured Jaylen Brown and Al Horford in the starting lineup tonight against the Indiana Pacers.

Stevens also said that while Brown is progressing in his recovery from a concussion he suffered in Minnesota Thursday, he doesn’t expect to see him playing this week.

Horford on the other hand was a late scratch from the game with an illness. The Celtics’ star center apparently tried to come to TD Garden and play in his condition, but was ultimately sent home to rest.

Stevens is now forced to break up his second unit that had been clicking since the All Star break by starting Smart and Morris. Even though he isn’t starting, look for Greg Monroe to play a pivotal role in this game with Horford out.

The shorthanded Celtics tip off against Indiana at 7:30 p.m. EST at TD Garden.
