Inside the Celtics Locker Room: Reactions following the Celtics heartbreaking 2OT loss (video)

Brad Stevens, Jayson Tatum, and Marcus Morris react to Wednesday night’s thriller at TD Garden.

BOSTON - After getting off to a hot start, the Celtics allowed Washington back into this one, ultimately falling 125-124 in double overtime.

Here are the reactions from Brad Stevens, Jayson Tatum, and Marcus Morris.

Brad Stevens:

Re: Giving up the three-point lead at the end of regulation -

“Just one of those plays that I know Marcus (Morris) would like to have back. You know, at the end of the day, when we come out of the timeout, we wanted to be five guys around the three-point line. And you don’t want to give them just an easy-entry layup. But I think that we did a pretty good job initially, and then we should’ve just let (Otto) Porter lay it in. But that happens, and Marcus Morris was one of the main reasons why we were there, and it happens. Happens. We wouldn’t have been there without him.”

Jayson Tatum

How important is having a short memory in terms of plays you wish you could have back?

“Yeah, I wish I hit that free throw, then we wouldn’t have had, hopefully, to go to the second overtime. Wish I hit that last shot. But we play again on Friday, so just focus on that game.”

Marcus Morris:

What do you say after a game like this?

“It’s a tough one. We had a lot of chances to win. Me being a veteran I think I put that one me for just committing to the ball knowing that they needed a three and they kicked it out and made a great play. That was my bad.”
