Two days after Sean Kilpatrick’s 10-day deal with the Celtics fell apart, Boston signed Xavier Silas to a 10-day deal using their hardship exception.
G League guard Xavier Silas will sign a 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics, league source tells ESPN.

Silas has been in the NBA G-League since the 2011-12 season, most recently a member of the Northern Arizona Suns. He is averaging 18.4 points on 38% from three this season on 9.4 attempts per game.
The 30-year-old shooting guard from Northern Illinois has only played in two games in his NBA career, those coming in 2011 with the Philadelphia 76ers. Unless Silas plays well enough to make the Celtics waive one of their current players on the roster, it is likely that he will not be a member of the team once the regular season ends.
