The Boston Celtics announced Monday that Kyrie Irving will miss the team’s game against the Chicago Bulls with left knee soreness.
#NEBHInjuryReport for tonight:
— Boston Celtics (@celtics) March 5, 2018
Gordon Hayward - OUT - Left Ankle Rehab
Kyrie Irving - OUT - Left Knee Soreness
Daniel Theis - PROBABLE - Right Hamstring Soreness
The last time Irving missed a game in Chicago the Celtics lost by 23 points and struggled mightily on the offensive end. This time around they might have more confidence with the way their bench has been playing, along with Terry Rozier’s triple-double and 31-point performances starting for an injured Irving.
Marcus Smart and Shane Larkin are also back in the rotation, so the Celtics should have plenty of backcourt options against a Bulls team that has lost 13 out of its last 16 games.
The Celtics and Bulls tip off at 8 p.m. EST in Chicago as the Celtics look to get back in the win column after losing to Houston Saturday night.
