Brad Stevens told reporters Monday that there was a possibility that Irving’s rest could last for the remainder of the week, but it appears Irving just needed a few days off before returning to action.
The Celtics have been rolling offensively since returning from the All Star break, winning five of their last six games including three blowout wins. With Irving back, the Celtics should have a fully healthy squad minus Gordon Hayward for a stretch where they play three consecutive playoff contenders (MIN, IND, WAS).
The Celtics and Timberwolves tip off Thursday at 8 p.m. EST in a nationally televised matchup between teams missing their primary wing scorers (Butler, Hayward).
