Jaylen Brown: “I won’t miss this next series” (videos)

The latest updates on Jaylen Brown injury from Saturday night’s press conferences...

NBA: Playoffs-Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

BOSTON – Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics’ leading playoff scorer, went down in the 2nd quarter, after only 16 minutes of play.

Brown limped to the locker room with just under three minutes left in the first half. He did not return with the rest of the team to begin second half warmups, instead coming out a minute before the third quarter tipped and jogging back and forth across the court to test his right hamstring.

He walked gingerly off the court and to the stationary bike next to the Celtics bench, where he remained for the first half of the third quarter before hopping off and retreating to the Celtics locker room.

Though Jaylen was anxious to attempt to return to the court for the closing half of game 7, Coach Stevens poured cold water on the situation.

When asked for an update on Brown’s injury, following game 7, Stevens told the media, “Obviously, I was told that if we got in a pinch that he could play, and we decided that that was not going to happen. That’s not – with hamstrings – let’s see how he feels tomorrow.”

The Celtics will hold a film session Sunday, followed by a media availability with Coach Stevens and players. Stay tuned to CLNS Media and CelticsBlog for more updates on Brown’s injury coming out of Waltham this afternoon.
