Kadeem Allen to make his first NBA start vs Bucks

Never thought I’d write a news story about this.

NBA: Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

In light of the Boston Celtics’ first four options at point guard out with injuries and illnesses, rookie two-way player Kadeem Allen will make his first career start against the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday.

Allen has recorded five points, three assists, and four rebounds in 39 total minutes of action this season. Drafted with the 53rd pick in the 2017 draft, Allen has spent most of the year bouncing back and forth from the Celtics to the Maine Red Claws.

Brad Stevens told reporters that the Celtics will likely go with a point guard by committee approach tonight, featuring a combination of Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, and Jaylen Brown. Terry Rozier was probable to play, but the Celtics are being pre-cautious since he will most likely start at point guard in the first round of the playoffs.

The Celtics (Red Claws?) and Bucks tip off at 8 p.m. EST in Milwaukee.
