Celtics Practice Report: Preparing for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers

New, comments

WALTHAM - The Boston Celtics held practice on Friday afternoon in Waltham as they prepare for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Amidst discussing the team’s matchup with the Cavaliers, Brad Stevens commented on the firing of Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey, saying that it was disappointing, while praising his 2017-18 season.

Al Horford compared this year’s Celtics team to last season’s Eastern Conference Finals roster, and discussed how they can contain LeBron James in their upcoming series. “Last year, we were a unique group... Guys that went out and obviously played hard every night. We’re doing the same thing now, but with this group, we have more depth in those positions, suited more to guard LeBron. We have a lot more bodies to take on that challenge”

Terry Rozier praised the Celtics’ resilience, noting that they’ve been counted out all season long. “We’d rather y’all count us out. We don’t want anybody on our side now. We’re doing good and we play better when our back is against the wall.”
