Per David Pick, the Boston Celtics have agreed to a one-year rookie minimum deal with Brad Wanamaker. This comes just one day after the two sides were reported to be finalizing the contract.

Italian forward Gigi Datome is excited for his Fenerbahce teammate to get a chance with his former team and thinks Wanamaker will help Boston. “For him, it’s great to have a system like Boston’s because his IQ is very high and Boston plays very nice basketball,” Datome told the Boston Globe. You need a high IQ to play in Boston for Brad Stevens.” Datome played 18 games for the Celtics in 2015, averaging 5.2 points before heading back to Europe.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Boston Celtics are finalizing a deal to sign 6’4” guard Brad Wanamaker.

The former University of Pittsburgh star played one season in the NBA’s G-League in 2011-2012 before going overseas. Wanamaker played in the Turkish League and EuroLeague this past season, averaging 11.5 points and 3.5 assists in 69 games.

Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe is reporting that the Celtics are seeking a two-year deal, while Wanamaker is looking for one.
