After saying that he was ready to work and prove himself at his introductory press conference after an underwhelming sophomore season at Texas A&M and rumors that he had a low energy motor, Rob Williams III is off to a rough start:
Robert Williams missed his flight today and missed the Celtics’ first Summer League practice. He is on his way to Boston.— Chris Grenham (@chrisgrenham) July 1, 2018
If you remember, his introductory phone call was postponed because he overslept. He’s in transit to Boston now.
Let’s not make assumptions as to why RWIII isn’t there, but this certainly isn’t a good start. Assistant coach Jay Larranga voiced his disappointment and has stated that they’ll handle his absence internally:

The good news is that this guy found some time to show the rookies what it takes to make it in their first year:

Someone put Jayson Tatum’s locker next to Rob’s STAT.
